The American Lung Association advocates for a higher standard of air quality than the standard recently set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. EPA’s own Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee Ozone Review Panel concurs with ALA. “… the members of the CASAC Ozone Review Panel do not endorse the new primary ozone standard as being sufficiently protective of public health.” See the full letter to EPA Administrator Stephen Johnson and the accompanying graph that shows the differentiation between the two standards.
